Passionate Kisses (Lucinda Williams)

Lucinda Williams doesn’t seem to be that well known in the UK, but she writes some corking songs. On the other hand, Mary Chapin-Carpenter is quite well known in the UK. She too writes great songs, but she chose to cover Lucinda Williams’ song ‘Passionate Kisses’ and had a huge hit with it.

When we put together ‘Sooner But Not Later’ we were torn between including ‘Never Had It So Good’ by Mary Chapin Carpenter (which we played at every gig) or Passionate Kisses by Lucinda Williams (which at the time time we hadn’t really played much at all). We chose that latter and we were really please with the results. We’re currently reintroducing it to our live set for 2018 – some of you may have seen a video of us playing for the first time. So here is the version from ‘Sooner But Not Later’. Enjoy!
